PART 4: MY HUSBAND FORCED HIS HIGH-RISK PREGNANT WIFE TO SERVE HIS GUESTS WHILE HIS MISTRESS MOCKED HER

PART 4 — THE NIGHT HIS UNTOUCHABLE EMPIRE COLLAPSED BEFORE TWO HUNDRED GUESTS

Long before Prescott Horizon Ventures became famous, Logan had approached Elias Thornton, a respected private equity executive, asking for financing.

Elias had refused after concluding that Logan possessed extraordinary ambition but very little financial discipline. Logan never forgave the rejection.

What Logan never discovered was that Elias remained interested in one thing.

Me.

Not romantically.

Professionally.

After reviewing several contracts I had quietly drafted years earlier, Elias told Daniel that I possessed one of the sharpest legal minds he had ever encountered. We stayed in contact long after Logan severed every business relationship with him.

When my marriage began falling apart, I called Daniel first.

Daniel called Elias.

The rest happened quietly.

Painfully.

Patiently.

For nearly eleven months.

While Logan traveled across the country chasing investors and appearing on magazine covers, Daniel and I carefully documented every act of financial misconduct hidden beneath Prescott Horizon Ventures. Logan had grown careless with success. Company funds quietly paid for personal vacations. Corporate accounts financed Sabrina’s luxury apartment downtown. Shell companies disguised executive

bonuses. Financial statements exaggerated valuations before funding rounds. Individually, each violation seemed insignificant.

Together…

They represented enough evidence to destroy a billion-dollar firm.

Still, exposing corruption wasn’t enough.

I wanted something else.

I wanted justice.

Justice required patience.

I looked once more toward the bedroom door.

Music continued downstairs.

The party had reached its peak.

Perfect.

I pressed the blue button.

The application asked one final question.

Confirm authorization for acquisition and immediate execution?

I didn’t hesitate.

YES.

The screen froze for several seconds.

Then another message appeared.

Authorization accepted.

Transaction executing…

I stared quietly as one confirmation after another appeared across the display.

Major shareholders notified.

Voting proxies activated.

Emergency board meeting initiated.

Federal compliance reports released.

Financing agreements suspended.

Banking partners informed.

Acquisition sequence confirmed.

Within less than sixty seconds, everything Logan believed he controlled had begun slipping beyond his reach.

My phone rang almost immediately.

Daniel.

I

answered.

“Natalie.”

His calm voice somehow steadied my breathing.

“It’s done.”

“Any complications?”

“None. Elias secured enough voting rights thirty-eight minutes ago. Your authorization released the final block of shares.”

“So…”

“It’s over.”

I closed my eyes.

“Thank you.”

“No.”

Daniel’s voice softened.

“You don’t thank me.”

A pause followed.

“You survived.”

Before I could answer, another contraction tightened across my abdomen.

This one hurt.

Daniel immediately recognized the change in my breathing.

“Natalie?”

“I think…”

Another wave interrupted me.

“I think the babies are coming.”

“I’m calling emergency services.”

“No.”

“You need an ambulance.”

“I know.”

“But give me thirty seconds.”

Thirty more seconds.

That was all I wanted.

Not for revenge.

For closure.

I slowly pushed myself upright using the edge of the bed. Every muscle protested. My nightgown was streaked with dust from the hardwood floor, and blood trickled slowly from a cut near my hairline. Supporting

my stomach carefully, I managed to stand.

My legs shook violently.

But they held.

Step by step, I walked toward the bedroom doorway.

Downstairs, applause erupted once again.

Logan was speaking.

His confident voice echoed through the mansion.

“…our future has never looked brighter.”

I almost laughed.

Slowly, I descended the staircase.

Conversation filled the enormous ballroom.

Hundreds of guests looked toward Logan standing proudly beneath the crystal chandelier with Sabrina smiling beside him.

No one noticed me at first.

Then someone gasped.

Heads turned one after another.

The music stopped.

The room fell silent.

I stood at the bottom of the staircase wearing a torn nightgown, barefoot, one hand supporting my pregnant stomach while bruises spread across my arms and blood stained the side of my face.

Every eye in the mansion shifted from Logan…

…to me.

Logan’s confident smile disappeared instantly.

“Natalie…”

He forced an awkward laugh.

“What happened to you?”

I didn’t answer.

At that exact moment his phone rang.

He ignored it.

Then another.

And another.

Within seconds nearly every executive standing near him reached for their own phones as notifications flooded the room simultaneously.

One investor frowned.

Another looked visibly confused.

A third whispered something under his breath before staring directly at Logan.

His chief financial officer suddenly pushed through the crowd.

His face had turned completely white.

“Logan…”

“What?”

“We have a problem.”

“Not now.”

“No.”

The CFO swallowed hard.

“It can’t wait.”

“What is it?”

“The banks froze every operating account.”

Logan laughed nervously.

“That’s impossible.”

“It already happened.”

Another executive interrupted.

“The board just voted.”

“What board?”

“The emergency board meeting.”

“There wasn’t supposed to be a meeting tonight.”

“There was.”

The man looked completely stunned.

“You’ve been removed as Chief Executive Officer.”

Logan blinked.

“What?”

His attorney rushed across the ballroom holding a tablet.

“You need to see this.”

He grabbed the device.

His face drained of color.

“No…”

His voice barely existed anymore.

“No… this isn’t real.”

Elias Thornton walked calmly through the front entrance.

Every conversation stopped.

He wasn’t alone.

Daniel Mercer followed beside him carrying several legal folders.

Two federal investigators entered moments later behind them.

Elias looked directly at Logan.

“It is very real.”

Logan stumbled backward.

“You…”

Elias nodded once.

“I own fifty-one percent now.”

Logan shook his head violently.

“No.”

“Actually…”

Daniel opened one of the folders.

“Mrs. Prescott authorized the final transaction twelve minutes ago.”

Every guest looked toward me.

Logan turned slowly.

His eyes filled with absolute disbelief.

“You?”

I simply nodded.

“You’ve been planning this?”

“For eleven months.”

“You couldn’t.”

“I already did.”

His breathing became uneven.

“The house…”

“The company owns it.”

“The cars…”

“Leased.”

“My accounts?”

“Frozen.”

“My shares?”

“Transferred.”

“My position?”

“Gone.”

Silence swallowed the ballroom.

The same people who had applauded Logan only moments earlier quietly stepped away from him.

Sabrina looked around desperately before whispering, “Logan…”

He reached for her hand.

She pulled away.

“I didn’t sign up for this.”

Then she walked out the front door without looking back once.

Logan stood completely alone.

For the first time since I had met him, there wasn’t a single person standing beside him.

He looked at me with tears beginning to form.

“Natalie…”

“I’m sorry.”

“I know.”

“Please.”

“I know.”

“I made mistakes.”

“You made choices.”

Another contraction interrupted us.

This one nearly brought me to my knees.

Daniel caught me before I fell.

Outside, sirens finally echoed through the night.

Paramedics rushed through the entrance carrying emergency equipment.

As they carefully lifted me onto a stretcher, Logan took one hesitant step forward.

“I should come with you.”

I looked at him for a long moment.

Then I quietly shook my head.

“No.”

Those two letters carried seven years of disappointment.

Seven years of manipulation.

Seven years of silence.

The paramedics wheeled me toward the ambulance as flashing red and blue lights illuminated the mansion one final time.

Just before the ambulance doors closed, I looked back.

Logan Prescott remained standing alone beneath the crystal chandelier, surrounded by strangers who refused to meet his eyes.

The mansion was no longer his.

The company was no longer his.

His reputation was gone.

His fortune was gone.

Even the woman he had thrown everything away for had already disappeared into the night.

Forty-eight hours later, I gave birth prematurely to two beautiful little girls.

They were tiny.

Fragile.

But they survived.

Months later, while holding both daughters in my arms, I learned that Logan had accepted a plea agreement involving multiple counts of securities fraud, corporate embezzlement, and financial misrepresentation. The man who once believed the world belonged to him now spent his days inside a federal correctional facility, sharing a room smaller than the walk-in closet he used to complain about.

People often ask whether revenge brought me peace.

The answer is no.

Revenge didn’t save me.

Justice did.

The real victory wasn’t watching Logan lose everything.

It was realizing that my daughters would grow up never believing love was supposed to hurt, never mistaking control for devotion, and never allowing anyone to convince them that their silence was the price of being loved.

Because the night their father destroyed his own empire…

Their mother finally reclaimed her life.

THE END.
