An intern threw coffee on my white suit, screaming that the CEO was her husband.
Chapter 1

An intern threw coffee on my white suit, screaming that the CEO was her husband.
"Get this beggar out!" she laughed, livestreaming my humiliation to her followers. I didn't yell. I simply wiped the espresso, and call him, "Come meet your new wife." When the elevator opened and the CEO saw my face, the intern’s smile turned to pure terror...
The day an intern threw coffee on me in the middle of my own hospital, she thought she had chosen a weak woman.
She smiled in my face, lifted her chin, and announced loud enough for the entire lobby to hear that her husband was the CEO. Then she told security to throw me out.
I did not scream.
I did not cry.
I simply blotted the espresso from my white silk suit, picked up my phone, and called my husband.
“Mark,” I said calmly, “come downstairs. Your new wife is throwing coffee on me.”

Her influencer smile vanished into a vicious glare. “I am very close to the top of this hospital. My husband is the CEO, Mark Thompson. So unless you want to be removed, walk away.”
The lobby went dead silent. Henry gasped. Even Dr. Chen looked up.
She had just claimed my husband in the middle of my empire.
Before I could respond, she grabbed her iced coffee and hurled it at my chest, scalding my white suit.
“Security!” she shrieked. “Get her out before my husband hears about this!”
I looked
“Katherine? You're back?”
I kept my eyes on Tiffany. “Yes. I’m in the main lobby,” I said, my voice carrying across the quiet room.
“Come downstairs, Mark. Your new wife is throwing coffee on me.”
The entire lobby held its breath. And for the first time since I walked through those doors, the intern who thought she owned my world finally looked scared.
